PROJECTS

Tropical Mesquite Collective
FARM Center's focus on community food security has included working with the introduced and often maligned Kiawe. A.K.A. Prosopis limensis, Kiawe is a nutrient dense food source that can be utilized locally, while supporting the restoration of the the species in Peru by sending the seeds back to South America. Through hands on training, instructional videos and publications, FARM Center has worked to shift the view of Kiawe as one of parasite to one of nourishment in arid ecosystems.
